GeoWhere Search has two purposes, and there is good and bad in GeoWhere Search Adware. The good? It is a program containing a number of useful tools that can make it easier to surf the 'Net. As a desktop search engine, GeoSearch sends inquiries to multiple search engines and you receive the results of these inquires. This saves you the time of having to go to each of these sites and retype your keywords.
Now for the bad. Since GeoWhere is a free download, it becomes an easy target for developers to add malicious code to this software. When this occurs, GeoWhere turns to bad when it starts to deliver multiple pop-ups on your desktop.
This is not the only way adware can reach your computer; it can also be silently downloaded from websites and installed even without your knowledge. Since so many adware programs do not leave any trace once it is installed, you may not know that it’s there until you start having strange mishaps.
This type of adware is virtually impossible to find because there are no visible icons. It does not show up in the Start Menu, and you cannot even find it in the task list or system tray. Adware rarely provides you with instructions to uninstall the software, and when it does, the instructions are usually bogus and do not completely remove all of the software.
If your computer is infected you want to make sure that you remove any unwanted adware immediately. The only proven way to remove malicious adware is to purchase and run a good spyware removal program. There are some free programs on the market that work pretty well, but they just don’t have the technology to remove adware 100%. You can fool around with these and risk spyware returning, or you can invest in a spyware removal program that will guarantee 100% removal of all spyware, malware, adware, and other potential threats.
